The exact second where time thins

The line between stillness and explotion

This pause is fleeting, in one breath youll sprint away.

But right now, in this second, you own it

The palette is intentionally restrained.  The cold weight of this piece emphasize the wait before the buzzer  The gridded structure fragments time into measured sections, each one holding a different texture of anticipation.

It isolates that charged moment between readiness and realease

Swimmers hold their position often called a “”freeze” before the buzzer.

A movement during this time can result in a false start.

How does life sometimes caught us in a  subsequent pause of a moment? Before you think, before you speak, and ultimately before you do?

Inspired by 1936 Olympic swimmer Katherine Rawls
