Gavin Larkin

Gavin was born in Port Elizabeth, and from a young age showed a keen visual interest in the world around him.  Encouraged by a strong artistic flair that runs through his family.

While studying the history of art at NKA (Nelson Mandela University in art, photography and design) , he was inspired and fascinated by the French Impressionist movement of the 1870's.  Camille Pissarro being one of this favorite artists from that time. 

 

After pursuing a long and successful career in the advertising industry,  Gavin at last took up his art and opened an Art Gallery in Muizenberg, Western Cape.  His preference is "plein air" Landscapes, to effectively and spontaneously capture the true effect of colour and light.  His most recent works entering the world of POP ART is truely tremendous, and have fetched rocket  prices in Galleries in the City Bowl.
