Endurance

Its all about the extra space in this exercise pool  to make the turn around faster.

​

This work consists of 70 individual canvases, each depicting a swimmer suspended in motion.

Arranged in ten rows of seven, the swimmers move rhythmically across the surface, alternating direction as they advance, turn and begin again.

​

While planning the piece, I found myself reflecting on the idea of forgiveness—not seven times, but 70x7. What began as a study of movement became a meditation on grace, endurance and the human capacity to start over.

​

Forgiveness is rarely a single act. More often, it is a return. A choice made repeatedly. We think we have reached the end, only to discover another turn ahead.

​

The swimmers mirror this journey. They move forward, turn back and continue, creating a visual rhythm that echoes the ongoing work of letting go, healing and extending grace.

​

Mounted on a fluorescent pink aluminium diamond-plate surface, lightly sanded to reveal the metallic pattern beneath, the work shimmers like sunlight on water. As the viewer moves, the surface shifts and changes, reminding us that growth and forgiveness are never static.

​

Endless Pool is a celebration of persistence, resilience and the freedom found in beginning again.

​

Because some journeys are not measured by how quickly we finish, but by our willingness to keep swimming.
