Anita Steenkamp

Anita Steenkamp is a Western Cape–based, self-taught artist who has been painting from a young age, becoming more dedicated to her practice in 1999.

 

Her work is rooted in a deep appreciation for still life, landscapes and portraits studies.  She finds inspiration in everyday moments that spark joy and evoke emotion.

Working primarily in acrylic, she also explores multiple mediums, incorporating this into her mixed media works. Her process is intuitive and expressive, allowing each piece to develop organically through layers, texture, and a thoughtful use of colour.

Her paintings reflect a sensitivity to the present moment, inviting viewers to pause and connect with the quiet beauty found in everyday life.
