Residing in the picturesque coastal Village of Langebaan, Ingrid specialize in Realism and impressionism
using Oils. Her specialty is Plein Air Landscape Painting, but she also loves to paint Still Lives.
She covers a variety of subjects , but time and time again she is drawn to the
natural wonders of wild birds , fauna and flora, in her immediate area where se lives.
When we interviewed Ingrid she told us, that when creating her art, her vision is to capture a moment in time where nature reveals its extra-ordinary beauty in an object or place that would otherwise be
mundane or overlooked. She always look for the little surprises to include in her Artworks. She attempts to capture moments and convey them into some small happening onto her master pieces.
Her favorite time to explore for Plein Air is the golden hour light that comes with early mornings and afternoons. The natural light bathes scenes with sublime beauty and reveals the wonder of anything it touches, which you would miss in other hours of the day.

Ingrid is drawn to color. The emotions that these colors evoke in her, is evident in her paintings.

For her current flower studies, she have focused on iris, orchids, proteas. What strikes her are their endurance and fragility, with a visible touch of faith, hope and wisdom they represent. She beautifully captures these characteristic's in her work.
