Judes

Segulah welcomed fine  artist Judy Bezuidenhout  , whose work is quickly drawing attention for its meticulous detail and unmistakable charm.We met with Judy in an interview to hear more about herself and this is what she shared ;

“I have a deep love for color, patterns, and storytelling,” she tells us, settling into the conversation with the ease of someone who has finally found her place.

For years, Judy built her career in the medical field, a world far removed from the studio she now calls home. The return to art, she explains, felt less like a decision and more like a homecoming.

“Art has always been a kind of medicine for me—just with less paperwork and a whole lot more sparkle.”

Her signature lies in fine art lines and rhythmic, repeating patterns. The process grounds her.
“These pieces calm me. They recharge me. They prepare me for the more challenging artworks that follow.”

What sets Judes apart, is versatility. Judy doesn’t confine herself to traditional surfaces.

“I work on everything—from canvasses to furniture. Anything willing to sit still for me becomes part of the story.”

In her studio, classical music plays almost constantly, shaping the tempo of her brushstrokes. “It’s my rhythm, my breath, my muse,” she says. The influence is subtle but unmistakable; there’s a lyrical cadence in her work that mirrors the music that fills her space.

Her artistic style is playful, patient, and intimately personal. Each creation carries a trace of humor, a thread of lived experience, and a generous devotion to detail.

The result is a body of work that feels both joyful and deeply human—art that invites viewers not just to look, but to linger.

With Clem & Judes, Langebaan isn’t just gaining another artist couple —it’s gaining a vibrant, evolving voice whose love for color and craft is impossible to ignore
